Oslo Wine School - Oslo: WSET Level 2 in Wine Classroom 

  • 3 full evenings 

  • Dates: Mondays 13 & 27 January, 10. February

  • Time: 10:00 - 16:00 hrs 

  • Location: Centrally in Oslo

  • This course is taught in English since all the course materials and exam is only available in English.  All our teachers can explain terminology in Norwegian if required.  

  • max .16 students per course 

  • This course is taught by an approved Oslo Wine School WSET educator.  

The WSET Level2 in Wine is an internationally recognized and certified course designed for individuals who already understand the basics about wine. WSET Level 2 in Wine is a beginner/intermediated level wine course to explore wines and is suitable for wine-interested consumers who wish to broaden their knowledge and wine choices or as a foundation for working in the wine trade. 

Our goal is to inspire and empower students, equipping them with the skills to choose wines for various occasions. We keep our classes small to ensure personalized attention and maximize learning opportunities. 

What you will learn:

Level 2 in Wine focuses on learning about the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world, the regions where they are grown and the styles of wine produced.  In addition, you will explore factors that impact wine styles and quality, and learn how to describe wines confidently using the Systematic Approach to Tasting® (SAT)

  • How to taste and describe wine using the WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine (SAT)

  • The principal grape varieties of the world. Style and quality of wines produced from regionally important black and white grape varieties

  • How the local environment affects grape growing options in the vineyard, the winemaking process.

  • How bottle aging affects the style and quality of wines made from the principal grape varieties

  • Understand the most important labelling terms to indicate origin and regulation.

  • How the various production methods of sparkling and fortified wines influence the style of the wine.

  • The principles of food and wine pairing, wine storage, and service

  • Taste approx. 25 wines including Sparkling wines, white wines, red wines, dessert wines and fortified wines

  • Classroom 60-minute multiple-choice exam.  Course participants can enroll in the course exam usually held 4-6 weeks after their course.  On successfully passing the exam, students receive a WSET Level 2 in Wine certificate and pin. 

 Oslo Wine School offers WSET Level 1 in Wine as a classroom course or live digitally via Zoom

Purchased course places are not refundable, but can be transferred to another person or to other course dates on request.  

All our courses require a minimum number of course participants. In the extreme case that there are insufficient course participants to run a course, students will be informed 7 working day in advance that the course is re-scheduled, and informed of the new course dates.

WSET Level 2 in Wine classroom course with Oslo Wine School

  • 18 - 20 hours of WSET-accredited wine education with one of our Oslo Wine School WSET wine educators.

  • This course is approved by WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) i London and is internationally approved in more than 80 countries.  

  • WSET Level 2 in Wine certificate and pin on successfully passing the exam.  

  • Classroom exam fee for WSET Level 2 in Wine exam fee. For students who wish to take the digital exam, a small additional fee applies.  

  • Kahoot! Practice tests developed by Oslo Wine School 

  • WSET Level 2 in Wine course materials and specifications guide.  

  • Guided wine-tasting of more than 22 wInes

 

WSET Level 2 in Wine Exam

Following the course students are invited to register for the WSET Level 2 in Wine exam, which is a multiple-choice exam of 50 questions to be answered in one hour.  No tasting skills are required to pass level 2 in Wine.  Students can choose between taking the exam online digitally, or in the classroom in Oslo.  After successful completion will receive an internationally approved Wine & Spirit Education certificate and pin.  We offer various exam dates both as a classroom exam and digital.  Please ask for more information after enrollment.
