About Contratto
Founded in 1867 by Giuseppe Contratto with a focus on producing high-quality sparkling wines, by 1910 their wines had shown such great success that they became the official wine supplier for the Vatican, as well as several royal households. In 1919, Contratto made the decision to focus on single-vintage sparkling wines as a way of expressing the individual characteristics of every single year. In 1993, Contratto was taken over by the Bocchino family who set to work restoring the wine Cathedral – their underground cellars which are now UNESCO protected.
The current owner Giorgio Rivetti, with a deep passion for Champagne, took over the company in 2011. Giorigo Rivetti, owners of La Spinetta, have vineyards in Piedmonte and Tuscany

Contratto was established in 1867 by Giuseppe Contratto, producing one of Italy´s first traditional method sparkling wines. The winery was purchased by the Rivetti family in 2011.
From the Alta Langhe DOCG, with vineyards located 750 – 800 m above sea level.
Winemaking: fermented in stainless steel. The base wine is aged for 9 months on the fine lees prior to the second fermentation in bottle. Aged 48 months prior to disgorgement. No dosage.

Smaksnotat:
Medium gold colour. On the nose delicate red fruits, orange blossom, brioche. On the palate – Fine crisp acidic backbone. Very juicy, with intense crisp pure and elegant fruit – red berries, green apple, citrus with hints of peach. Fine creamy textural bubbles and a lengthy finish. Very good value for money.
